Morphix is currently in a coma

After too many years of relative silence I've decided to officially put Morphix into maintenance-only mode. No new distributions will be released for the forseeable future.

If you are looking for active Debian live-cd distributions, please check out live.debian.net. If you are looking for Linux live-cds in general, you'll probably want to check out Knoppix first.

We will continue to improve the underlying Morphix tools for building Linux live-cds, however we won't release general end-user distributions ourselves. The following are still available for anyone who is interested:

So, what went wrong? I'm afraid that our project has suffered under the lack of focus that was inherent in the project's goals. Without one strong distribution and a lack of enough dedicated time the project simply couldn't reach those goals with a quality that people were expecting from a modern Linux distribution.

I'd like to thank everyone that has helped the project over the last 5 years, most of all the #morphix group that has been instrumental in bringing Morphix as far as it has come and the Morphix derivatives that have come and gone over the years. A small selection of those distributions:

Thanks, Alex
